Influencing Nations.

Over Thanksgiving, I was able to take a small group of students and staff from VCU's Chi Alpha International group to participate in Mosaic, Northeast Chi Alpha's regional retreat for internationals. It was an incredible weekend! We had a blast meeting with students from all over the world, sharing holiday experiences and exploring what it means to follow Jesus. I organized the team for our times of worship. It was awesome to see students from more than 20 nations singing praises to Jesus together!

In last month's email I asked you to pray for Mosaic. It was obvious that the Holy Spirit was working. Three students, 2 from Iran and one from China chose to begin their relationship with Jesus during our time together! Thanks for helping us make a difference in their lives.

Mike baptizing Vimal with help from his small group leader Tony.
There's nothing better than watching a student take one more step in his commitment to Jesus. I had the privilege of baptizing Vimal, a VCU freshman at our last service this semester. Vimal made the decision to follow Jesus in high school and his faith has grown in his first semester in Chi Alpha.

An amazing opportunity.

In our 18 years of campus ministry, I've led multiple missions trips around the world. God used those to bless the people we ministered to, but the biggest impact has been on the team members themselves. Their eyes were opened to God's love for the world, the immense need, and their part in meeting it. This March, I have the opportunity to lead one of Richmond Chi Alpha's first spring break mission trips. We'll be working in Merida, Mexico with my brother Dave to renovate the Bible school, where he's training the next generation of national ministers & missionaries, and assisting in local outreaches in the surrounding communities and universities.

This is the first missions experience for the majority of my team. It's also their first time raising support. Each will have to raise $1,300 to cover their portion of the trip. Would you consider helping them meet that goal? You can give online through our ministry webpage. Just choose "XA Mission Trip" in the giving type and put "Mexico" in the comments.

Your partnership with us has been a gift all year long. We're praying for the wonder of Jesus' birth to overwhelm you this Christmas season. We love you!
