Planning Our Future


I am excited to share with you the areas of focus from our St. Jude's Strategic Plan 2016-2019. I think of the strategic plan much like a course set out by a ship in taking a journey. The course has a destination and purpose; everyone on the ship knows their role in making the trip a success and focuses on that same direction. The course takes into account the risks that may be encountered along the way and has a plan, resources and fuel to make it to the destination. Myself, my team and the Board are currently working on projects and initiatives which are all part of this cohesive effort.

Our St. Jude's three year plan has 'set sail' and is working to:
  • Ensure we are financially sustainable. This means funding is in place to meet the needs of the residents and to maintain the building.
  • Continue to provide exemplary, 'cutting edge' care and service; "best-practices" are being followed and performance indicators meet and exceed expectations.
  • Build strong relationships and effective communication between residents, families, staff and between departments.
  • Develop a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the lifespan of the mechanics and systems in the building and plans to address these as issues come up.
  • Better understand the relationship between St. Jude's and the Anglican Church, to the benefit of both. As well, other partnerships are in place that are mutually beneficial.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to St. Jude’s Annual General Meeting on June 23rd at 6:00 pm, which will be followed by light refreshments. Come and get to know our dedicated Board of Directors, socialize, and meet some new friends.

Service Awards


On May 5th St. Jude's recognized staff members who have reached milestones in their careers. Long Service anniversary dates of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years were acknowledged. In total 11 staff were celebrated with a combined total of 191 years of service! One of our very, very special staff was given a unique and coveted 31 year pin.

Bring all your friends and family to enjoy an afternoon at St. Jude's and bid on the silent auction items. Help make this event a success!
