Announcement

Following an extensive recruitment search, the Board of St. Jude’s is pleased to announce that MICHELE COOK has been hired as the next Administrator of St. Jude’s.

Michele has over twenty years of comprehensive healthcare experience serving seniors and adults in care and the community: not-for-profit organizations, subsidized housing for seniors, adult day programs and health authority owned/operated residential care. She holds B.Sc., B. Social Work, and MBA degrees, and comes to St. Jude’s from the position of Site Manager at Evergreen House in North Vancouver.

Michele will begin her new position with St. Jude’s on March 24, and I know that you will all support her as she settles in and gets to know everyone.

Residents' Corner

Residents celebrated Valentine’s Day with "A Night in Paris". French lounge music and special refreshments created by our in-house cook set the tone for the event. As an addition, residents were encouraged to have their portrait taken in front of the Eiffel Tower.

This provided an opportunity for residents to exercise autonomy and choice by selecting their attire from a variety of hats, scarves and necklaces provided by generous donation from family members and volunteers.

A Farewell to Chris

Although we had four months to prepare for the day, it seemed all too soon when January 30th rolled around and we held a Tea to celebrate the retirement of our Administrator, Chris Norman. It was attended by former and current Board of Director members, volunteers, colleagues, staff and special guest, Chris' daughter Coral. Speeches, tributes, and videos made up the agenda, followed by tea and cake. Many tears were shed as we bid farewell to our leader and friend of the last 16 years. We look forward to hearing all about the wonderful adventures in Chris' well-deserved retirement and wish her all the very best.
