Mordecai Community Picnic THIS SUNDAY June 30

Join us on Sunday for music, food & fun!

Hey Mordecai Neighbors,
you are invited to the

37th Annual Community Picnic & Potluck
Sunday, June 30, 4:30-6:30 pm

Mordecai Historic Park

Please bring a side dish

It’s time to meet your neighbors at the 2019 Mordecai Community Picnic!

Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, your favorite salad or side dish and relax during the 4:30-5:30 p.m. social hour.

Enjoy live music by Oakwood resident Ben Youngblood  before digging into some fried chicken and tasty potluck dishes.

This is an alcohol-free, family friendly event. We’ll have the neighborhood play wagons there with plenty of fun activities for the kids!

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at Temple Baptist Church.

For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Picnic Chairperson Merrilee Jacobson at

Please RSVP on the Nextdoor event page
OR the facebook event page

We hope to see you on Sunday afternoon!

*Note: In case of inclement weather, we'll gather at Temple Baptist Church.

AND there's more-  we hope you'll join neighbors again on Thursday for the annual

Neighborhood 4th of July Parade

The fun family parade is hosted by the Pilot Mill neighborhood, and will begin at 10:30am at the intersection of Harp and Cedar streets. We will march down Harp Street and back up Blount Street to Mordecai Mini Park.
Then we will enjoy time at the park for festive snacks and play time. There will be snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy machines!  More info/RSVP here
