|December 2010 Newsletter
Since our last newsletter, there has been loads of activity within the Branch! Some of them have been featured in the RLSS UK Lifesavers Magazine and some are covered in this newsletter. This is our first edition of the new e-mail newsletter and we hope they you prefer this format compared to the previous one. Lifesaving Championships 2010
Congratulations to all those who competed in the National Lifesaving Championships! From the Branch, Lisa Johnston (Ladies Masters 30-39) came 2nd, Pam Bougeard (Ladies Masters 40-49) came 4th and Geoff Williams (Male Masters 60+) came 2nd. A good day was had by all at the competition, with a team from Bradford-on-Avon LSC entering a new Club SERC Competition the day before coming 9th. Keynsham LSC to visit German ResQ Cup
Keynsham LSC have currently planning a trip to the 2011 ResQ Cup, a fun open water competition run by the German lifesaving organisation, DLRG. All the trip planning is being done by their youth members, supported by the Club, and you can track their plans on their website: www.klsc.co.uk/germany2011.
Youth Leader Resource Centre
A new resource for clubs, TA's and teachers, is being developed by the Branch. We're putting together a collection of activities, games, ideas, etc. for training youth members and how to keep them interested. These resources will be open to all in the West Region. If you've got any resources for youth members that we can use, please send them to us. There is a prize for the best resource, which will be announced at the end of January 2011!
Society Honours 2009
Ten members of the Branch received Society Honours for 2009 at the Guildhall in London during October. The awards covered long service and dedication to the Society as well as merit awards for work within the Branch and Region. Congratulations to all who received one!
The Society Honours for 2010 will soon be published. If you know of anyone who deserves recognition for their hard work and dedication, then submit them for an Honour. You can submit recommendations to the Branch for consideration, by clicking here and filling out the online form. Getting to know your Branch

|New Awards and Sales Officer Address
The address for the Branch Awards and Sales Officer where all award forms should be sent, unless otherwise advised/specified, has changed. Please click here for the new address. Forms sent to the old address may not be processed.
New CPR Protocols
As you may be aware, new CPR protocols were announced by ILCOR, ERC and the UK Resuscitation Council. There are a few minor changes to the protocols and they will start being taught from 1st January 2011 by RLSS UK TA's and Rookie Instructors. All TA's and Rookie Instructors will be contacted by RLSS UK HQ detailing the changes to the protocols. The Branch are putting together a calendar of events for 2011, which we'll publish in the New Year. If you've got any courses, events or competitions, that you are running please send them to us.
