March 2011 Update

Society Honours 2010
The Branch Committee meets on the 16th March (next week) and we will be discussing all nominations for Society Honours. If you know of someone who deserves recognition for their hard work and dedication, then submit them for an Honour.

Please discuss this with your Club, Sports Centre and Committees!

You can submit recommendations to the Branch for consideration, by clicking here and filling out the online form. You can find out more information about what Honours are available and who has received them in the past, by clicking here.

Please submit any nominations BEFORE 16th March, as the Branch Committee will discuss honours at their meeting on the 16th March.

Branch Grant Applications
Just a reminder that you can submit an application for a grant from the Branch to fund lifesaving activities at any time. If you need some help to get a project off the ground, think about applying for a grant. You'll get a guaranteed response within 4 weeks.

As we have a Branch Meeting next week, consider submitting an application before 16th March and we'll discuss it at our meeting on the 16th - you'll get a very quick decision!

If your application is not successful, we can assist in helping you find and apply for other grants. For more information, click here.

West Region Volunteers Needed
The West Region Committee, made up of volunteers from the three Branches that make up the Region, are looking for a new Regional Vice Chairman and a Secretary.

The Region Committee meets 4 to 5 times a year and is an excellent way to help lifesaving develop. The Region really gets involved with helping each of the Branches fulfill their action plans.

Branch and Regional Meetings
You may have guessed by now that we have a Branch Meeting, the last before the AGM, on 16th March (next week). If you have anything you would like us to discuss that affects you or your Club/group/sports centre, please e-mail me at .

The Branch are putting together a calendar of events for 2011, which we'll publish in the New Year. If you've got any courses, events or competitions, that you are running please send them to us. Also if you want a specific course, event or competition to be run in the Branch, tell us and we'll arrange it. Please e-mail with your events.
