Writer Sejal Shah joins Words on the Verge on February 25th at 5pm.
Sejal Shah is an essayist, fiction writer, poet, and teacher. Her work has been nominated for Best American Essays and the Pushcart Prize, and her recent book manuscript was a finalist in 2016 for The Journal / The Ohio State University Press Non / Fiction Collection Prize, the Cleveland State University Poetry Center’s Essay Collection Competition, and the Kore Press Memoir-in-Essays Award.
Her stories and essays have appeared in The Asian American Literary Review; Brevity; Conjunctions; Denver Quarterly; Indiana Review; Kenyon Review; The Literary Review; The Massachusetts Review; The Margins; Post, Under Her Skin (Seal Press); and others. In 2016, she also wrote a biweekly column for the Kenyon Review Blog. She is the recipient of residencies from Blue Mountain Center, the Millay Colony for the Arts, and NYU, as well as fellowships from the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, Kundiman, and the Ragdale Foundation.
