SPRING 2022 NEWSLETTER CORRECTION!

Hello again, there was a small error in the spelling of the county email for the Special Use Permit. If you would like to send a letter of support please email your letter to planningcomments@eaglecounty.us. Thank you again for you continued support of CRMPI.

Special Use Permit final application submitted

In early March, we submitted our final application for special use permit to Eagle county.  Because of zoning changes, CRMPI is not allowed to teach classes on site until this permit is approved by the Roaring Fork planning committee and finally the Eagle County commissioners.  We need community support to get this permit approved.
We are hoping you can send an email to support what CRMPI has been doing for the last 38 years as a permaculture education center, demonstration farm, and community resource.  The county is currently accepting emails of public support to planningcomments@eaglecounty.us with the subject line “CRMPI SUP ZS-9170-2021”.  The full special use permit is available for review here and should soon be available in Eagle county records.

ADDITIONAL READING
Urban Food Forests in the American Southwest by James Allen, head of the Northern University of Arizona Flagstaff forestry department, gives a great scientific overview of food forest sites in the region including CRMPI. It is a highly recommended read from Jerome for everyone in the permaculture and agroforestry community.
