President's Letter

25ee76b8-5db6-4ad8-a9b1-2852f83ee6a7.jpgOur board aimed to have 2019 be a year of continued growth for our organization and our members, and I hope that each and every one of you feels that you have benefited from the programming, support and other offerings provided by PRSA and our Orlando Regional chapter.

As we head into a new year, we’d love to hear from you on what you’d like to see more of from our chapter, whether it’s an idea for a monthly program, a way we could better connect with members or ideas for our diversity & inclusion efforts. And as always, we welcome new volunteers to serve on our committees.

We hope that 2019 has been good to you, and invite you to join us on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Citrus Club as we kick off our first breakfast program of the new year with an intriguing and (sadly) always relevant topic – cybersecurity. Our speaker, CEO of Coaxis International, Christophe Réglat, serves on the FBI’s Counter-Intelligence Task Force and will share how understanding “social engineering” (a common hacker tactic) can help your company prevent a PR crisis-producing hack. Our thanks to Bisbee and Company for sponsoring this event.

Best wishes to you and yours for the holidays. See you in 2020!

With thanks,

Heather Keroes, APR
2019 President, PRSA Orlando Regional Chapter

Diversity Blog -- Diversity Is A Great Force Towards Creativity

By Alyssa Badalamenti, Diversity & Inclusion Chair

PRSA Orlando’s goal is to support communications professionals of all backgrounds. This year specifically, one of my goals was to look for opportunities to include everyone in our efforts and build new relationships. We are all unique, come from a variety of industries, and are in various stages of our careers. One person cannot define diversity and inclusion.  That’s why this year, we expanded our team with the addition of two diversity and inclusion committee members working with the D&I Chair (me). Together, we shared experiences, brainstormed ideas and put words to action with a few key efforts.
