Indiana 811 Radio Advertising Campaign

To continue to spread the safe digging message and reach a larger audience, Indiana 811 created two new radio advertisements to target professional excavators on their morning commute. These ads, which you can listen to here, will be broadcast during mornings throughout May and June on the top radio stations across the state. Indiana 811 strategically bought advertising space from stations that males age 18–49 listen to and created these advertisements to speak to professionals already familiar with Indiana 811, reminding them to follow all protocol on site and not cut corners.

These radio spots will also be played on the Indianapolis Colts radio network during the 2012–2013 football season.

Indiana Firehouses Promote Safe Digging Month

Indiana 811 and Indiana Pipeline Awareness Association asked fire stations across the state to show their support for Indiana Safe Digging Month by reminding their community members to call 811 before all digging projects. Each fire station that posted a brief reminder to call 811 on its marquee received a donation of $100 and was entered into a grand prize for a $200 donation to their organization. These gracious donations were made possible through Vectren’s support of Indiana 811.

Colts Draft Day Party

Indianapolis Colts fans young and old gathered to see the 811 Bike and learn about damage prevention from the Indiana 811 and Vectren representatives who worked the booth that was set up in the middle of Lucas Oil Stadium at the Colts Draft Party on April 27. Kids were treated to special Indiana 811 bandanas that they proudly wore the rest of the evening, and adults received informational pamphlets and were entered to win a door prize raffle. Families had their photograph taken with the 811 Bike. The atmosphere in the stadium was full of excitement and anticipation for a successful 2012–2013 football season and was a great venue for Indiana 811 to educate homeowners.
