Indiana 811 Launches "811Now" for Single Address Locate Requests
Indiana residents can now "click before they dig" by visiting 811Now, a new online service that allows professional excavators and homeowners who plan to dig at a single address to request that member utility companies mark the approximate location of underground lines via a simple online form. The 811Now form asks the same questions asked by Indiana 811 telephone agents, giving professionals and homeowners a new option for notifying member utility operators about their single-address projects. After an 811Now online request is received, member utility operators are notified and will send professional locators to mark the approximate location of their lines within two full working days. For additional information and to make a single address request, please visit: 811Now.com.

Indiana 811 Spreads the Word about 811Now on 8/11 Day
In conjunction with the launch of 811Now on Aug. 11 (8/11 Day), Indiana 811 conducted media outreach across the state to spread the word about the new 811Now single address web ticket entry option to excavators and homeowners. Indiana 811 earned online and TV coverage from WANE-TV, WFFT-TV and The News-Sentinel in Fort Wayne; The Kokomo Tribune in Kokomo; WTHI-TV in Terre Haute; and WLFI-TV in Lafayette. The media coverage not only informed Hoosiers about the new 811Now option, but also reminded them to always contact Indiana 811 to have utilities marked before any digging project, large or small.

Vectren Promotes Safe Digging on 8/11 Day
As part of the national effort to promote safe digging on 8/11 Day, Vectren held a safety day at an equipment rental store in Carmel, Ind. More than 100 people attended the event and received a free food truck lunch. While on-site, guests were invited in the Swag Truck for a free t-shirt and to learn how they can get a free gas safety training session for their crew. This event was the first of many Vectren will hold at equipment rental locations across the state. Vectren has prepared a quick video to share this event with you here. If you are interested in receiving a Natural Gas Safety training class at no charge, contact Tracey Bryant, Vectren, at tjbryant@vectren.com or your local gas company.
