Healing through art
Tanyse, our Self-Sufficiency Manager, is also a trained counsellor. She has recently been helping both children and adults to come to terms with some of the burdens they carry through art and creativity. Tanyse says "Children need art and stories and poems and music as much as they need love and food and fresh air and play". She enjoys each precious moment she spends with our families helping them to express themselves and learn that are special and worth something.
One Night Only with Beaufort Male Choir
We have a few tickets left for this fabulous evening on Saturday 25th March, you can get yours online by clicking here. We're looking forward to an evening of entertainment, delicious treats and great raffle prizes from local businesses. We hope you can come along and join in the fun.
We're blessed to have such a great bunch of regular givers and volunteers, we call them Shamwaris...
This month we want to give a big shout out to one of our community partners, Leisure day at Morden Baptist Church. Leisure day are a group of elderly folk and volunteers who meet weekly for a meal and friendship. Every week one of the volunteers, Lynda, manages a stall of goods donated by the members for us and to-date they have raised an astonishing £3,000! It just shows what a bit of commitment can achieve. Thank you Lynda and all at Leisure day!!!
Also in Morden, another volunteer team have recently set up a Pop-up shop in our honour. They're using a room in Crown House Creative, London Road, SM4 5AY (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 10am-2pm)... if you're local, do pop in soon to encourage them!
Thank you and have a lovely weekend all.
With love from,
The Zimkids UK team
