Good Morning Friends,
As I laid in bed last night unable to sleep from the previous day announcements, I struggled to find words to share with you all. My heart aches for y’all, for campus, and for the postponed launch of Mid City Church.
Life is going to look very different for the remainder of the semester. But now more than ever, we need to live into our mission of being a community of students living the way of Jesus, whether that is from near or far.
The LSU Wesley Board is working diligently to create a plan in which we can continue to do ministry in a way that keeps us all safe.
With that being said I encourage y’all to consider the following:
Be smart! If you do not feel well, stay home and away from others.
Social distancing, which is being encouraged by campus and by us as well, does not mean social isolation. We are here for you. If you have questions or concerns or just need someone to talk to, please reach out to anyone on staff or one of our wonderful board members.
It’s okay to be frustrated, but don’t be mad. Think beyond yourself. Yes, some of this might not make sense to you or seem inconvenient, but you have to think about the big picture. The steps being made are to help stop the continued spread of the virus.
Please know, I am personally committed to continuing doing ministry this semester, whatever that ends up looking like. I will still reach out to y’all, connect with y’all and encourage y’all to continue to live into our mission by gathering (maybe not in person), growing, and serving.
