Subject: Planning for Wildfire in the Wildland-Urban Interface

Where:  UI College of Law’s Boise location in the Idaho Law Learning Center (514 W. Jefferson Street, Room 325) 

UI College of Law professor Stephen R. Miller will present a new publication, Planning for Wildfire in the Wildland-Urban Interface: A Resource Guide for Idaho Communities

The guide presents planning for wildfire as a four-step process that empowers local communities. This session should be of particular interest to neighborhoods and residents near the foothills and grasslands.More info here.

The C.P.A. is a collaboration of Idaho Smart Growth and the University of Idaho College of Law in Boise. Monthly sessions are designed to help citizens become effective advocates on a wide range of planning topics. Programs are free and open to all.

Farewell, Kate!
Administrator Kate Rodriguez has left ISG to return to Missoula and a new position in membership and marketing with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Kate has been a cheerful and valuable presence at the front desk and events--we will miss her and wish her well!

ISG needs help! We aren't even trying to replace Kate now, but we are evaluating the administrator position and looking for part-time, contract and volunteer help in several areas. If you have experience in any of the following areas, and want to help ISG build healthier communities in Idaho, get in touch!

2016 Idaho APA Annual Conference. ISG is participating Thursday afternoon at 2:00 pm on the Rural Track about extending infrastructure outside city boundaries. The conference is in Boise Oct. 12-14. More info.

Dover planning workshops. ISG is facilitating two public workshops for the city of Dover on Oct. 19 and 20, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dover City Hall, 699 Lakeshore Ave. If you live or have a business in Dover, please help update the city’s comprehensive plan. Each session is unique, come to either or both. Refreshments provided.
