Parent Association Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

This week, the P.A. celebrated the many, many parents and others who volunteer their time to help make St. James' programs so successful. Volunteers were treated to a luncheon at the Los Angeles Tennis Club. It was a perfect day: beautiful weather, good company, and great food. Thank you to everyone that came out to the luncheon, and to all of our volunteers, thanks again for going the extra mile!

Summer Reading

In addition to having a wide verity of books to select from, this year, several Summer Reading titles will be available for purchase. What better way to prepare for the summer break than purchasing Summer Reading books and supporting our book fair at the same time?!

Huskies Athletics

Husky Highlights Poetry Contest Reminder

Husky Highlights, the quarterly magazine produced by the St. James' Parent Association, is holding its annual poetry competition for its start-of-summer edition! Adults, kids, faculty, staff... everyone's invited to contribute!

Please email your submissions to Lucy Norland no later than Friday, May 22.

Selected poems will be published in the edition coming out in June.

S.T.E.M. Fair – Last Day to Sign Up is Sunday, May 17!

The St. James' S.T.E.M. Fair will take place on May 21, 2015. Our non-competitive fair encourages students to showcase their knowledge and interests and to develop a deep, lifelong passion for science. We encourage every student to participate, but only fourth and sixth grade students are required to participate.

The registration deadline is Sunday, May 17.

Safety and Restrictions

Parents of students participating in the S.T.E.M. Fair, please keep these safety precautions and restrictions in mind:

  • Experiment must not harm any person or animal. Experiments that can cause bodily harm, involve toxic chemicals, and sharp dangerous objects are not allowed.
  • We discourage bringing iPads or any expensive equipment as part of a project. St. James Episcopal School may not be held responsible for any loss or damage.
  • Projects must be self contained and fit into the space in front of the science board. Students will not have access to an electrical outlet.
  • Please be aware of food safety measures so that students with food allergies can be safe. Please keep in mind the following:
    • Food must NOT CONTAIN NUTS
    • All food must be properly labeled with potential allergens
    • Please be mindful of known allergens: milk, eggs, fish, crustacean, shellfish, wheat, soybeans, latex.

Used Uniforms at S.T.E.M. Fair

Used Uniform is going to set up at the S.T.E.M. Fair on Thursday, May 21.

Fifth Graders! Come and get your sixth grade uniforms just in time for the required graduation ceremony!

Everyone else! BIG pants SALE! $5 a pair! Get 'em while they're HOT!

Sixth Grade Silent Auction

At this year's S.T.E.M. Fair, which will take place on May 21, there will be a live, silent auction to benefit the Sixth Grade Graduation Fund. The winner will take home this beautiful banner, which was featured at the Neon Dance Party earlier this year and is signed by the Class of 2015.

Themed-Dress Days 2015

to support the Sixth Grade Graduation fund

$2 per student, per day. Pajama Day – June 3. Payment accepted by credit card online or in person with cash on the day of the event.

If you were unable to pay online for Jeans Day or Jersey Day, you can bring in cash to the front office.

Krispy Kreme Donuts

to support the Sixth Grade Graduation fund

Fresh and delicious Krispy Kreme donuts will be available during lunch on each of the themed-dress days for $2 per donut. Students who want donuts will need to bring cash.
