Welcome to Husky Hits!

from Michael Lavigne Jr., Communications Manager

Hi all! Welcome to this special edition of Husky Hits. Although we usually publish this weekly newsletter on Fridays, we thought that it was important for you to receive links to the documents on the left, as well as the time-sensitive announcements below. You can look forward to the regular edition of Husky Hits in your inboxes Friday afternoon.

On a personal note, I'm excited to have joined the St. James' community, and I look forward to getting to know all of you in the weeks, months, and years ahead.

Join us for the Annual All-School Family Picnic on Friday!

from the Parent Association Executive Committee

In celebration of the start of a new school year, the Parent Association will host a picnic at school from 4:00–6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, featuring pizza, snow cones, inflatable obstacle courses, bounce-houses, and more. Please plan to join us for the fun.

In order for this event to be a success, the PA needs 20 volunteers to sign up to help monitor the inflatables, serve food, and keep the yard clean. (We won't be able to operate the inflatables without adult supervision!) You can sign up online to help; we'd love to hear from volunteers before Thursday afternoon!

Questions? You should contact PA members and event organizers Clara Martin, Jenny Hager, or Lois Park.

New Families: Medical Forms Needed!

from Kelly Basham, School Nurse

A reminder to all new families: please turn in your child's immunization record and physical examination forms to the Health Room if you have not already done so. If you are a returning family and you have an updated immunization record for your child, please provide a copy to the School Nurse. Finally, any children who have life threatening allergies, please drop off Epi-Pens in the Health Room as soon as possible, in case of emergency.

Fall 2014 Musical Theater Production Announced

from John Staley, Theater Instructor & Musical Director

As Mrs. David announced at this morning's 2014–15 kickoff, the musical this fall will be Disney's musical adaptation of the film Mary Poppins. In addition to the posters hanging all around campus, a web page with loads of information about the show is posted on the Parent Portal, including a registration form for auditions. Please give the information posted there a read, and I hope your child considers joining the show! Please contact Joe Davidson or Beth Kawaja.
