imagineNATIVE & Netflix Partner to Support Indigenous Artists
Announced last night at the Banff World Media Festival, imagineNATIVE has partnered with Netflix to present a slate of professional development opportunities for Indigenous directors, producers, and screenwriters across Canada.
This game-changing partnership - presented through the imagineNATIVE Institute - will greatly enhance imagineNATIVE's professional development and industry-related activities, ensuring the expansion of opportunities for Indigenous screen content creators that are delivered by Indigenous-run organizations.
The imagineNATIVE-Netflix Partnership will encompass six distinct initiatives for Indigenous screenwriters, directors and producers from Canada:
- Indigenous Producers Lab (beginning in 2020)
- Indigenous Directors Lab (beginning in 2020)
- Indigenous Screenwriting Intensive (beginning in 2019)
- ‘imagineNATIVE Originals’ Mentorship Commissions (beginning in 2019)
- Original Storytellers Series Incubator (beginning in 2020)
- Year-Round Institute Series and Festival Industry Days panels & workshops (beginning in 2019)
