Last year we foreshadowed the introduction of a sports training program for members who work in management and prevention of injuries for active, energetic, positive people. The training framework has two primary framework structures which members can progress through.  The first training offering will be the Foundation Competencies.  This is core baseline knowledge that members will need to know to pursue a sports podiatry pathway.  We are offering a two-day training programme Friday 19th and Saturday 20th May at the Sudima Hotel, Christchurch Airport.   A special rate for accomodation has been arranged with the Sudima, we will update you once you are registered on how to make your reservation.
Find out more about the course and registration details.

If you would prefer to attend an Auckland training program later in the year, please email and let us know.

Government Tender - Orthotics

As we indicated last month, ACC have been reviewing the process for procurement of ACC funded orthotics.      PodiatryNZ have been building a relationship with ACC for some time.   We are pleased that we have been able to achieve some significant improvements in the ACC process.  The key change for podiatrists will be that for orthoses of less than $300 no referral from a medical specialist will be required.

Podiatrists will still be paid for consultations via the Cost of Treatment Regulations, however there will soon be contracts put in place for those that wish to supply Orthotics.
A webinar will be conducted on 8 March from 12.15 pm to 1.15 pm.
