September Chapter Meeting

As usual, the 3rd Tuesday of the month, our meeting is at Stoup Brewing in Ballard, tomorrow, September 15th. Head straight up the stairs, or come early for a happy hour beverage, but please don't bring any drinks up there from the bar - we have growlers to share. On the agenda: Cari Simson from Antioch University will be giving a short presentation on Rain Gardens to keep Salmon Bay and the Sound clean. We'll also provide info on how you can take part in the upcoming Clean Water Classic.
When: September 15, 6:45-8PM
Where:  Stoup Brewing, 1108 NW 52nd St, Ballard

International Coastal Cleanup Day

It's approaching fast and this time we're joining hands with the Capitol (Olympia) chapter! Bring out the family, your scout troop, your friends, to Twin Harbors State Park to clean Westport beaches on Saturday, September 19th. Rain or shine, we hope to see you there! Check in starts at 9:30AM with a BBQ hosted by the Seattle chapter afterwards. Register here.

Clean Water Classic

Looking ahead to September 25-27, we are all anticipating the annual Clean Water Classic. It's the big fundraiser for all PNW chapters and we hope to see you in Westport. Jean Olsen is the main woman in charge, and she needs your help to make this a safe, fun, and profitable event for our chapter. Please sign up to volunteer here, it's a great way to make new friends. First time? You might want to book a campsite or get a hotel in Westport soon!

Upcoming Rain Garden Events in Ballard
Community work party Saturday 10/10/15 from 10-3pm
The rain garden project our chapter has been involved with is set and ready to get installed. Cari Simson will be discussing it in more detail at Tuesday's chapter meeting and there will also be a community workday on October 10th to get all the plants in the ground. The group will be taught about the plants, how the swales work, and hopefully finish the planting and mulching in one day! If you are interested in being involved with the workday please contact Brice.
