For a very limited time, I have a book on NetGalley. If you’d like to receive a free review copy of Miss Fitz and the Hot Patchouli Murder, reply back to this email with the phrase “NetGalley” and I will get in touch with you. I’m specifically looking for readers who 1.) like magical midlife paracozies and 2.) will post their reviews on Amazon and Goodreads.

If you aren’t on NetGalley and you don’t have KU, don’t worry. I’m considering using BookSprout for future reviews, and I always need enthusiastic readers to review my books on all the sites. The best way to get on my ARC team list is to join the Secret Updates from Red Tash Facebook group!

The Kitchen Witch's Guide to the New Weird, Practical Life Magic in the Timie of Covid-19

The Kitchen Witch’s Guide to the New Weird is a non-fiction journaling activity book, as well as a memoir of life during and after the pandemic. It’s a little about me, a lot about you, and alllllll about what’s next in this new chapter of post-pandemic everyday mayhem.

What’s coming next?

Speaking of everyday mayhem…as promised, I have been chipping away at Miss Fitz 3 over the summer. I’ve had another major project going on: selling our home. As of this writing, we have an offer accepted on a house in Bloomington, Indiana (the college town adjacent to beautiful rural Brown County), but we’re dropping everything else in life to clear out of the Treehouse every five minutes for a real estate showing. I’m frazzled AF, my cats don’t particularly enjoy being loaded into my minivan, and my house has never BEEN so clean! I even cleaned my miniature cauldron (which I hide before showings, as to not frighten away the “normies.”) Consequently, I do not yet know the release date for MF3, but I also don’t know when I’m moving, so…

Upon reflection, I’m thinking of this third book in the series as roasting in a slow-cooker…perhaps not unlike Miss Fitz’s dream Thanksgiving Turkey (her obsession in book 3 as of this draft). You ever just crave a satisfying Thanksgiving meal, complete with all the trimmings and your nearest and dearest close by? My heart lifts at the thought of it. I can just smell the cranberry relish and the gravy on the turkey. Miss Fitz is right there with us, looking forward to having her family around the table. If only people would stop trying to dump all these mysteries in her lap!

I’d still like to have MF3 available before Thanksgiving, but this bird needs time to slow roast. And I may be packing/unpacking/firing my realtor. Who knows. Stay tuned.

AND…I’m not ready to say much more about it yet, but watch for another Brown County witch to pop up with her own story sometime in the future. This particular story features some characters you already know from Miss Fitz at Midlife. I wonder if you can guess from the two images above who the star of this series may be...and the era in which the story takes place.

This particular spell’s about half-way done, so might be out before MF3! Let me know in the Facebook group if you are interested in beta-reading. In the meatime, familiarize yourself with Kindle Vella.

Just for giggles!

Portrat of an aristocratic woman explaining what the word "condescending" means

Ladies and gentlepersons of all walks of life, I present to you the Meme of the Month. Seeing how much my readers loved this really tickled my tiara.

What I’m watching: In the Dark on Netflix, in which a bawdy blind womanchild raises hell and solves a mystery)

What I’m reading: Scents and a Suspect, a super cute cozy mystery with an aristocratic talking dashund and a cute ghostly granny

What I’m playing and often rage-quitting: Stray, a video puzzle game in which you play as a cat in a post-apocalytic robot wasteland. It’s awesome except for those damn radioactive Zurks.

THE NEXT EMAIL YOU GET FROM ME will be about a new release, a freebie, or other promotion! Back to packing and writing, for me! If you’d like to converse with other Red Tash readers, join the FB group.

If you do NOT wish to receive newsletters like this, consider following me on Amazon or Bookbub, instead. They’ll only send info about new books or sale prices. No hard feelings!
