Life Together

We're incredibly blessed as we start our married life together, trusting Jesus! It's a joy to introduce Céline to the body of Christ and other friends here in Senegal. We cherish this season of life and rain, despite the heat and challenges.

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! Psalm 128:1

It's great to be back in Senegal with Céline! Just as Senegal is starting to feel like home, another period of transition awaits us in France. I'm eagerly anticipating our return "home" to Senegal, yet I know that God will faithfully use us in each spot He places us. Please pray for this time and transition, especially with the resulting strain on our small EMI Senegal team. It's not comfortable to live like this, feeling a bit stretched out over 3 continents, but it's worth it for the relationships and for the gospel. No one has a truly permanent home here. On the earth, we are SDF (homeless, without permanent residence) as we say in French.
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. (Philippians 3:20-21)

So during this period when we feel homeless, pray with us that our lives would point to our eternal home and to our Savior: the One who is building us up as His house upon Himself, our foundation (1 Peter 2). May we keep reflecting His glory to those around so that more would encounter Him as Savior, receiving a citizenship and home for eternity.

Prayer & Praise

  • Praise God for His continued provision for our Senegal team, for rest and renewal over the summer period!
  • Pray for our Senegal office registration and wisdom in our work throughout the West African region.
  • Pray for partners to cover $300 in monthly support due to several reductions in giving.
  • Rejoice with Céline and me for the blessing of married life!
  • Pray that we find housing in Lyon and for Céline's job search, as well as for her French citizenship request in November 2017.
  • Pray for good communication as I work remotely with the Senegal office.
  • Lift up Senegal office recruiting efforts, as we highlight the needs (especially a French-speaking architect) at our US and UK conferences in Oct. & Nov.

Walking by Faith

Céline and I got married in Massy, France on June 10! Thank you so much for your prayers and gifts!

We're now in Senegal together for 2 months before we move to France for Céline's French naturalization process. Praise God that He has guided us to the city of Lyon for this next season!

In a few weeks, interns arrive in Senegal to work with us on several possible projects. Pray for wisdom as we work with some local ministries, and likely MAF in Liberia for an aircraft hangar design.

Enjoying family time with Céline's brother, sister-in-law and their baby daughter
