We're grateful for the promise of Jesus' presence wherever we go, especially during times of physical separation. It's a blessing to be back with Céline in France after spending the month of January in Senegal. Thanks for your continued prayer and encouragement in this season of what seems like endless paperwork. Praise God that Céline's US visa process is advancing, that I now have a French visa to stay longer, and that we were able to start the process to officially register EMI Senegal with our first general assembly!

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20

We pray that you all were able to spend time with family celebrating the presence of Jesus, Emmanuel over this past Christmas season. Céline and I spent Christmas day with her brother's family near Paris, and we enjoyed moments together strolling through the Lyon Christmas market, exploring more of Lyon, and attending a concert of Handel's Messiah.
I was blessed to spend time in Senegal, even though it meant spending a month away from Céline who stayed in France. In addition to introducing future EMI staff to Senegal, I was also present to welcome Indian architect Tanisha and American civil engieering intern Lauren. Tanisha and Lauren are currently in Liberia with project leaders David and Greg working on a high school project for the ministry CLTI.
My focus this term will be connecting with design professionals and potential client ministries in France, and it's still possible that a civil engineering volunteer and I serve The Salvation Army in Angola by working on a drainage and wastewater project, probably in April.
