Unity in Christ

For the past several months, I've been working with a team on a university campus design project in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It's been amazing to see how God brought this diverse team together to help the Bible seminary expand.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12

It was a joy to lead this team of architects and engineers from Ghana, Nigeria, the U.S. and Canada, working with FATEAC seminary representatives and a local Ivorian architect/civil engineer. We were truly blessed to work together in harmony, using our diverse talents and backgrounds. Praise God for this opportunity to learn from each other and to grow!

Over the past few months, we've finalized a report and a drawing set to be published in French. We continue to pray for FATEAC as they seek funding and start construction later this year.
The two project interns were very encouraging and supportive, especially upon our return to Senegal. We are grateful that they were able to spend some of their internship working with us in our new office space, which is just below the apartment God provided for me and Céline.

The FATEAC project has also been an opportunity to discuss design in West Africa with a local Senegalese civil engineer friend. His input and guidance on drawings and report text has been invaluable. Pray with me for this and other relationships with local designers.

Marriage Next Month & Upcoming Plans

Céline and I will get married in Massy, France on June 10! Thanks for your prayers as we prepare. If you'd like to give toward our life together, visit our registry.

In July, we'll return to Senegal together for 2 months before moving temporarily to France for Céline's French naturalization process (several months at minimum).

In September, I plan to help lead a team to DR Congo, working on a mission hospital assessment and design project. We've tentatively scheduled a visit and celebration in the US for late 2018.

Prayer & Praise

  • Praise God for His continued provision for our Senegal team, especially for a local house church in English with whom we celebrated Christ's resurrection!
  • Pray for wisdom in our work throughout Senegal and the West African zone.
  • Give thanks with us for the design work and report for the Ivorian project, soon to be published in French!
  • Pray for partners to cover $250 in monthly support due to several reductions in giving.
  • Rejoice with Céline and me as we unite in marriage on June 10!
  • Pray for us as we start our life together, especially for Céline's job search in France and for her request for French citizenship in November 2017.

New EMI Website

Last month, EMI launched a new website and database that has been a dream since even before I joined staff in 2010! Praise God for the staff who have been dedicated to this effort, and for the ways that it will enable us to work and to receive gifts more efficiently.

If you are a monthly supporter who gives online, you will soon be receiving more communication about the transition to a new payment processer through our website. Thanks for your understanding and your partnership!
