Céline and I have truly seen God's Providence, defined as "the foreseeing care and guidance of God over the creatures of the earth." He works in the midst of difficult circumstances and provides beyond what we can even imagine. Thanks for being a part of that provision in our lives!

Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you. Psalm 33:20-22

Grace and peace to you in Jesus, dear friends and family.
Despite struggles and challenges, God is faithful, and He sustains us.

Shortly after our arrival in Senegal, we met an amazing couple from Lyon at church in Mbodiene. God has revealed Himself as a faithful Father as this couple has been able already to welcome Céline to Lyon while I was still in Liberia and Senegal, to connect us with a local church body in Lyon, and to let us use a vehicle as needed! They are a wonderful example of Christ's body welcoming brothers and sisters.
We rejoice that we were present to help welcome the EMI Senegal interns last month, including a visit to Gorée Island. Interns bring life and youth to our offices, and we're grateful for Nathaniel and Timothy (even though Timothy had to leave unexpectedly before our Liberia trip.

Thanks for your prayers and support during this season of working remotely from France. I have a unique opportunity to lead a small team to work on a possible drainage and wastewater project in November/December with The Salvation Army in Angola.

Prayer & Praise

  • Praise God for a great visit to Liberia earlier this month for hangar design work with Mission Aviation Fellowship!
  • Pray for the EMI Senegal team, especially during this period of separation and over the hottest month in Senegal. Pray especially for unity, good communication, and endurance.
  • Pray for our Senegal office registration and wisdom in our work throughout the West African region.
  • Pray for partners to cover $300 in monthly support due to several reductions in giving.
  • Rejoice with Céline and me for the blessing of married life and being reunited in Lyon!
  • Praise God for His provision of housing in Lyon! We have been approved and sign an apartment lease soon.
  • Pray for Céline's job search, as well as for her French citizenship request later this year. May God have His way during this season in France!
  • Lift up Senegal office recruiting efforts, as we highlight the needs (especially a French-speaking architect) at our US and UK conferences in Oct. & Nov.
Praise God for His provision of this apartment in Lyon!

From Shower to Server

A recent project as part of my role in IT support to prepare for hosting interns involved moving our computer server to an air-conditioned corner of one of the two bathrooms in our office space. We ran network cables, convinced the installation crew that we really wanted to install an AC unit in the corner of the bathroom, and added some partitions.

These photos show the transformation of the space from shower to server room.
