EMI West Africa Team in Senegal

2014 : Quelle Année

What a year!

From arriving in France with almost zero French to being able to lead worship, to lead a small house group and to have conversations in French, France has become a home to me. I'm so grateful for this season, and God is good always. And, I can't begin to express my gratitude to each of you for following and participating. Merci beaucoup à vous tous !

We also decided this year that the main EMI West Africa field office would be in Senegal. I'm honored and blessed to be a part of a truly amazing team, and I'm excited to pioneer this new office with them in 2016 after they complete French language study. Please pray with me that God richly blesses them with the gift of language.

What's Ahead

Vision for 2015

I'm excited to update you about my upcoming schedule. First, I have the privilege of returning to France for another session of language study through April. In the midst of this, I will likely travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo for a community water project with World Vision. This is the first project of its type for EMI, and I'm looking forward to being a part of helping up to 200,000 people have access to water.

In May, I'll get to be in Colorado to connect with many of you and to attend my brother's high school graduation. I'm expecting to move to Senegal via a stop in Paris in July/August 2015. My work will continue in Senegal and potentially Ghana as we prepare to launch our office and a Ghana chapter of EMI.

Immanuel, God with us

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).” (Mt 1:23)

It has been a tremendous comfort to reflect on God's presence no matter where I am in the world. As we celebrate the birth of Christ on earth, join me in giving thanks to the God who came to earth, was put to death, and raised to life for the salvation of those who trust in Him. Praise God for life and His continuing presence by His Spirit in us!

Prayer & Praise

  • Partners to cover my upcoming move to Senegal and West Africa office start-up costs.
  • Pray for the Wright family and the Hoffman family starting French language study in France next month.
  • Praise God for friends and community in France and at language school.
  • Pray for EMI Ghana vision to encourage and organize design professionals there as they integrate design and missions.
  • Continue to lift up the West African countries affected by Ebola outbreaks: Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.
