Media channels are evolving due in large part to advances in technology. The national convention program will examine shifts in overall media strategies and identify specifically how out of home (OOH) advertising can amplify contemporary media campaigns.
In San Diego, the program will address current perceptions about OOH plus examine how the medium can validate other media through message amplification, particularly related to mobile and social media applications. The national convention will also serve as a platform to confirm a future vision for the entire OOH industry to rally around, provide compelling proof-points, and instill confidence in the vibrant future of the industry.
An Inspiring and Thought-Provoking General Session
A lineup of respected speakers will inform, educate, and inspire the national convention audience. This year, the program has been condensed to include two full mornings of general session presentations and an afternoon packed with motivational workshops.
World renowned business author Malcolm Gladwell will give the keynote address during the first morning general session. He is the author of five New York Times
bestsellers — “The Tipping Point,†“Blink,†“Outliers,†“What the Dog Saw,†and “David and Goliath: UnderÂdogs, Misfits and the Art of Battling Giants.â€
Other notable speakers include Josh Spanier, Director of Media for Google; Andrew Lippman, who has been with MIT more than 35 years and oversees the MIT Media Lab; Mike Allen, who is chief White House Correspondent for Politico; Lee Nadler, who is responsible for managing MINI USA marketing proÂgrams; and Mike Sukle, founder of Sukle Advertising.
An OOH Forum mixed with influential OOH buyers and sellers will be a fitting convention finale. The media company panelists include William Eccelshare, Clear Channel Outdoor, Sean Reilly, Lamar Advertising, and Don Allman, Titan. The planning and buy community will be represented by Mauricio Sabogal, Kinetic, Helma Larkin, Posterscope, and Dave Yacullo, OMG/OMA.

The Expo, brimming with innovation, will be the heart of the national convention, where guests will gather for receptions, breakfast and luncheon service, and to explore the latest industry supplier goods and services in an expansive state-of-the-art exhibition.
The national convention provides the opÂportunity for OOH buyers and sellers to celebrate the industry, meet old and new colleagues, and network. The expo is the setting for the opening reception Monday evening.
