About SJP-UCLA:

Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA was founded in 2005 and is organized to support the Palestinian struggle for justice and equal rights. As a solidarity organization, we support the Palestinian call for 3 basic rights, as outlined in 2005:
  1. The right not to live under occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip
  2. The right to equality for Palestinian citizens of Israel
  3. The right for Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland
As a group, we focus on supporting these rights instead of advocating for a particular political solution (such as one or two states).

What we do:

At UCLA, we are working to encourage our university to cease investing in companies that support the violation of these rights. Currently, UC student tuition and other funds are being invested in corporations such as Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, Cemex, and Caterpillar, which all directly contribute to violations of Palestinian human rights and international law. You can read more about this issue in our BDS page on our website
