Welcome to another great year to be an Atlanta DG! We’re enjoying the afterglow of an award-winning Convention, and we can’t wait to get started on another amazing biennium. Last year saw a record number of dues-paid members, advances in our use of technology, and new programming such as the DG Mommies group!

This year, we hope to further our Founders’ commitment to the highest ideals of friendship and Doing Good by encouraging you to Live Our Ritual as we live, work, play, and serve in our beautiful city. Please reach out with news, both good and bad, so your sisters can be your champions. We’d also love to see increased participation in our growing chapter, such as volunteering your time on one of our committees! Please contact a committee board member with your availability. I know we can make this year unbelievably special as we all work together.

Membership dues have increased slightly to support our chapter’s continuing commitment to technology, off-set the rising cost of business and expand our philanthropy service and contributions. Your DG board has used other DG alumnae groups and the Atlanta-area Panhellenic groups as a benchmark for this decision and does not anticipate another increase in the near future.

We will also focus on ways to Do Good by increasing in-kind donations to the DG Foundation and local organizations such as the Center for the Visually Impaired and by growing our support for the collegiate chapters at UGA and GCSU. We see this as just another way that we can Live Our Ritual this year!

Jordan Crawford
Atlanta alumnae president

We are excited to introduce formal and informal rituals to our chapter in the spirit of these year's Live our Ritual theme.
  • A President's Pinning Ceremony was introduced at this year's planning meeting. The president's badge has our chapter name "Atlanta Alumnae" and our charter date of "2-5-54" engraved on the back and was passed on to our 44th chapter president, Jordan Crawford, by our outgoing president, Meghan Porter.
  • We held Formal Chapter at our August board meeting. While it has been decades for some and only a few years for other board members since their last formal chapter meeting in college, we met formally as a reminder that rituals are a special part of the Delta Gamma experience.
  • We will do the Rededication Service as a ritual at kick-off.
  • Have an engagement or pregnancy announcement you would like to share with your Atlanta Delta Gamma sisters?  Email our director of rituals, Emily Dowdell, at your information and she will plan a virtual Candle Pass for you on our Facebook Group or an in-person one at an upcoming private DG event you plan to be at.
  • Even our social media posts are informal rituals and we hope you have been enjoying our #MemberMentionMonday, #TBT, #FactFriday and #SponsorStorySaturday posts so far.
You may like to start out this new year by replacing your lost badge, upgrade to one with diamonds or pearls, or add an accessory (like the convenient badge pendant) to the one you have. Click here to see all the options and place your order.
Our goal is to raise just over $3,000 this fiscal year as a chapter for in-kind donations.  We plan to donate funds to CVI, Delta Gamma collegiate scholarships, Delta Iota's and Eta Chi's anchor games, the Delta Gamma Foundation and Panhellenic Sisters for Scholars.

We also need to raise funds to pay for the Red & White Ball. The Ball benefits middle and high school youth in the Center for the Visually Impaired's STARS program. This fairytale prom is complete with decorations, gifts, snacks, a live DJ and crowning of King & Queen of the Ball and is entirely run and funding by our Atlanta Delta Gamma alumnae chapter.

We can't "do good" without the help from each of you!  Click on the link below to donate to any or all of these causes.

Do you have Box Tops that you are wondering what to do with?

Our chapter donates Box Tops to Georgia Academy for the Blind located in Macon. Bring your Box Tops to any event, please include your name and number of box tops with them. If you would like to mail them in, please email Kristina at for details.
Help us report volunteer service hours to Executive Offices.

Record your service hours here.

Thank you for doing good!
A few upcoming volunteer service hour opportunities are listed below.  Please contact Kristina at for additional information and don't forget to log your service hours here.
  • CVI's BEGIN/STARS overnight trip for families will take place Saturday, August 20th to Sunday, August 21st at Kaplan Mitchell Retreat Center (Clayton, GA).  They are in need of one volunteer per family.  Volunteers and staff will stay in separate quarters from the families and the cost would be covered by CVI.
  • CVI's STARS after school program needs volunteers to assist teachers during the after school program and starts on Tuesday, September 13th.  The program is daily Tuesday - Thursday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
  • Do you have excellent reading and vocabulary skills and enjoy reading aloud to others? Georgia Radio Reading Service is located on 14th street and is a limited access radio station founded in 1980 to serve Georgia’s blind, visually impaired and print disabled communities by broadcasting the printed word voiced by volunteers from across the State of Georgia to the more than 170 radio shows that air on GaRRS each month.  Volunteers must complete an application and complete a 20 minute audio reading audition.
Get excited about Delta Gamma's national "Do Good" Week September 11-17. Your ATL DG chapter has many great things planned including a social media campaign, STARS After School Program, collecting box tops at Lunch Bunch, collecting mom/baby items at our moms' night out and a possible percentage night at a restaurant. Our new fiscal year (07/01/2016-06/30/2017) has just begun and we already have 85 dues paying members!

We would like to give special recognition to our Bronze level members who pay our highest dues level and our Loyalty members who were initiated in 1966 or earlier making them Delta Gamma's for 50+ years and are no longer required to pay dues, but do so anyways to support our chapter!

Your local dues go towards planning events for CVI and Foundation giving, our many special interest groups and annual events, a portion goes to the Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association, Founders Day, operating expenses, mailings and developing technology to serve you better!
