Joel Russell: NYAMA's Bill Shea Award Recipient

Steven Baldwin Associates is delighted to announce that our Senior Associate Joel Russell has been named the 2015 Bill Shea Award recipient by the New York Aviation Management Association (NYAMA). 

The Bill Shea Award was presented to Joel at NYAMA's annual Fall Conference, which took place this year from September 16 - 18 and was hosted by the Greater Rochester International Airport. 

The Award
The Bill Shea Award is given in honor of William F. Shea, an aerospace educator and lecturer who has had extensive experience in administration, education, government, and aviation. Bill Shea was on hand for the ceremony and presented the award to Joel in person. 

The text of the award states: "In recognition of your tremendous efforts and accomplishments in support of aviation in New York State."

The award serves as an important way for NYAMA to recognize key New York aviation players who have significantly contributed to the industry. As NYAMA states, the award is given to those who "have shown exceptional leadership and commitment to aviation in New York State."

Additionally, the award was accompanied by a Citation from the New York State Assembly which recognized the Bill Shea Award presentation to Joel and his achievements. The Citation was presented by Assembly Member Donna Lupardo, Co-chair of the NYS Legislative Aviation Caucus. (See photo.)

In his remarks, Joel thanked NYAMA for the recognition as well as the opportunity to work with many association members over the years. 

With more than 30 years of senior airport management experience, and having served as a past president of NYAMA as well as being an active member for decades, Joel has time and again shown the exemplary leadership that the award honors.
