Deputy Chief Operations Officer

The submission period remains open until July 19th in our confidential, national recruitment for the senior level position of Deputy Chief Operations Officer at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR), a thriving and growing airport located in the scenic Finger Lakes region of Central New York.

This is an exciting time to be at SYR which has seen record-setting passenger growth in the past few years and award-winning accolades from the industry for the Airport and staff. Moreover, the Airport has recently undergone a top-to-bottom $65 million terminal renovation and has established a record-setting 26 non-stop destinations in 2021, with service provided by all three major legacy carriers and bolstered by new partnerships with low-cost carriers.

The Position: Deputy Chief Operations Officer

  • At this key juncture in the Airport's history, SYR is looking for an experienced Deputy COO who will lead the Airport Operations and Airfield Maintenance divisions of the Airport, and other Operational/Maintenance divisions as needed. The preferred candidate will have oversight, supervision, and management experience in operations commensurate to a senior management position. The candidate will also be fluent in TSA and Federal aviation requirements and operations.

SBA Openings: In-house HR Specialist & business analyst / project manager

SBA is looking to hire two positions: 1) an in-house associate and HR specialist who can help with our internal and external recruitments, HR support services, and in-house payroll/personnel tasks, and 2) an aviation expert who can serve as an in-house analyst for our growing client work. 

As we continue to grow our business, including our HR services division, SBA is seeking to hire an associate  with 5 - 8 years of HR and personnel administration experience to assist with external and internal recruitment, HR support services, payroll, and personnel and related tasks. 

We are also accepting resumes for a position to assist with our growing client analysis work. We are looking for someone with
5 - 8 years of industry experience with a strong strategic and analytic background in assessing airport management and operations. 

For both of these positions, we could consider either full-time or part-time employment. SBA is headquartered in Albany, NY, but for the right candidate, these positions could accommodate a remote work environment. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
