January 2019 Photo Updates
Dear <<First Name>>,
January was a month of new beginnings for several families, as they started processes for their children for correction of club foot and other conditions. While receiving treatment at the Tebow Cure Hospital, many are staying over at the Care Center. Next week, we will likely be at capacity, meaning 10 families staying over.
Two new arrivals at the Care Center. Christian from Aklan (clubfoot) and Alex from Matanao (burn case)
Alex goes to the hospital each day for dressing changes; Jerwin has finished his second casting. John Arnold has had three castings. Johan finished nine castings and had surgery today. Ice ream sometimes helps to take away some of the pain.
We're starting now to receive reports for Bible distributions made in 2018. Exciting to know that Bibles are in the hands of 5,000 people who previously did not have a Bible, all in rural areas.
Both Jesel and Arlene had their oath taking ceremonies to become official licensed teachers. We look forward to how God will use their knowledge and skills for his glory.
Rachael is in grade 12 at the Marilog High School of Agriculture. We are trying to assist her to come to the USA for an internship with MESA International. We are still in the first steps of getting a passport and then on to other applications for Rachael. There is a Go Fund Me page set up for this opportunity.
The new Youth Center in Padada is full of activities and is mostly student led under the overall guidance of Ivy Toledo.
Many children are blessed each week with church activities at sites in Mindanao and Leyte.
We're excited for our upcoming boat reunion for 86 boats on February 16th, including dedication ceremonies for seven new boats.
Schools are back in session. Today, two vehicles were sent off early with prayers, to deliver supplies for partnership based feeding programs and to conduct Bible studies/value classes with teachers and students. Opportunities are growing.
Night To Shine is Feb. 9th in Davao in partnership with the Tebow Cure Hospital. We are excited to be a part of this event and to have been able again to provide dresses, shirts and bow ties for the attendees; even dresses for some of the mothers. Thanks for all who collected and sent dresses from CA, MO and TN. .
In just a few days Kelly and Cheryl, (two SOD Board Members), will be here from Missouri. We look forward to hosting them for 22 days as they travel around to several ministry sites and see what God is doing here through SOD Ministries.
Grateful for your prayers and support in so many ways,
For the SOD Board, staff and many grateful recipients of your blessings
