Dear <<First Name>>,
We just finished our first of 20 VBS programs which are sponsored or supported by Seeds of Dignity donors. Many children are getting their first exposure to the gospel message.
Boxes have arrived from Samaritan's Purse for Operation Christmas Child (OCC). The Aplaya Community Church has already passed out their allotted boxes and is starting on the 12 week discipleship training program for the children. Other sites will join in over the next 30 days with their distributions and training.
OCC discipleship class at the Aplaya Community Church.
Many surgery cases are coming in from Leyte and other areas. It is great to be able to minister to the children and their families as they proceed with their processes at the Tebow Cure Hospital in Davao.
Our third case from Leyte completed his surgery and is already home (Craig on the left). He is returning in four weeks for his followup appointment at the Tebow Cure Hospital. We have 18 cases on process now from Leyte.
We have been honored to participate in many graduations at sites where SOD is involved in some level of support - scholarships, feeding programs, discipleship, libraries...Our first location this year was at Davao School for the Blind.
Claudine, a former prosthetic case via the Jubilee Foundation, was valedictorian of her class and received numerous awards at her high school graduation in the Santo Tomas area..
Twenty students are sponsored for grades 11/12 at the Marilog High School of Agriculture along with two college students from the school. A proud day to be with the grade 12 students on the day of their graduations.
The Balik-Balik Community Church celebrated their third anniversary.
A wonderful children's ministry happens each Sunday at the church. We will be working with the church to sponsor a partnership based feeding program at the local school where the children attend, starting in June of 2019. Another expansion to the feeding program will be at the Aplaya Community Center.
Many church anniversaries in Leyte at the outreach churches have been happening. This one is at Mag-Asu where most of the attendees are connected to the SOD pump boat livelihood project.
Our 54th putput unit was dedicated last week providing livelihood for another family in Palompon, Leyte.
A year-end activity was to take the sponsored students from the Marilog High School of Agriculture on a field trip to Davao.
We also have taken several field trips with the children and their parents when they are staying over in Davao for their serial casting processes.
We are excited as God continues to expand his ministries through SOD donors and partners in Mindanao and Leyte. Thanks for your consistent prayer and financial support as we move forward with God's direction and in faith -- to increase feeding programs, scholarships, church planting and discipleship efforts and surgery cases in 2019.
Grateful for God's direction and provision,
Peter Cowles for the board, staff and many blessed recipients of your prayer and financial support
Ice cream always helps after casting.
