L’Association des Townshippers élit
un nouveau président
SHERBROOKE, 14 juin 2022. L'Association des Townshippers a élu un nouveau président pour remplacer M. Gerald Cutting qui, vendredi dernier, a quitté son poste au sein du conseil d'administration de l'organisme après un mandat de 12 ans. Le nouveau président de l'Association est M. Donald Warnholtz, un résident de Sherbrooke, Québec. M. Warnholtz est enthousiaste à l'idée d'assumer ce nouveau rôle et de soutenir la communauté d’expression anglaise des Cantons-de-l'Est.
M. Warnholtz, qui est également directeur général de la Fondation Dixville, a été extrêmement engagé comme bénévole dans la communauté pendant la plus grande partie de sa vie. Il possède également une vaste expérience professionnelle dans le secteur de la santé et des services sociaux, où il a été gestionnaire de programmes cliniques pendant 36 ans et, plus récemment, il était membre du comité provincial de la province sur la prestation des services de santé et des services sociaux en langue anglaise.
« Gerald Cutting a fait un excellent travail pour notre association et je tiens à le remercier sincèrement pour tout le temps et les efforts qu'il a consacrés à sa fonction de président au cours des 12 dernières années », a déclaré Donald Warnholtz. « Grâce à son travail, notre organisme se trouve dans une excellente position pour poursuivre son travail de représentation et de défense des intérêts de la communauté d’expression anglaise et pour continuer à offrir à nos concitoyens une variété de programmes et d'activités communautaires. » Malgré sa retraite du conseil d'administration, M. Cutting a accepté de rester proche de l'Association et de soutenir son conseil d'administration et son personnel pendant cette période de transition.
Dix des anciens membres du conseil d'administration de l'Association ont également été réélus lors de l'assemblée générale annuelle de l'organisme, qui s'est tenue le vendredi 10 juin. Un nouvel administrateur a également été nommé : il s’agit de M. Peter Starr, de Sutton, Québec. M. Starr apporte à son nouveau rôle au sein du conseil une richesse de connaissances et d'expérience des affaires, ainsi que de nombreuses compétences qui seront très utiles à l'Association. « Nous sommes chanceux de pouvoir continuer à compter sur un conseil d'administration solide et expérimenté et sur une solide équipe d’employés désireux d’aller de l’avant », a déclaré M. Warnholtz. « J'ai hâte de travailler avec eux tous et de nouer des liens avec les précieux partenaires et sympathisants de notre association dans un avenir rapproché. »

Townshippers' Association Elects New President
SHERBROOKE, June 14, 2022. Townshippers’ Association has elected a new president to replace Mr. Gerald Cutting who, last Friday, stepped down from his role on the organization’s board of directors after a 12-year tenure. The Association’s new president is Mr. Donald Warnholtz, a resident of Sherbrooke, Quebec. Mr. Warnholtz is enthusiastic about taking on this new role and supporting the English-speaking community of the Eastern Townships.
Mr. Warnholtz, who is also the Director General of the Dixville Foundation, has been extremely involved as a community volunteer for most of his life. He also has an extensive professional background in the health and social services sector, where he was a clinical program manager for 36 years and, more recently, was a member of the province’s provincial committee on the provision of health and social services in the English language.
“Gerald did great work for our Association, and I’d like to sincerely thank him for all the time and effort he put into his role over the past 12 years,” Donald said. “Through his work, our organization finds itself in a great position to continue our advocacy work on behalf of the English-speaking community and to continue offering our fellow Townshippers a variety of community-based programs and activities.” Despite his retirement from the board of directors, Mr. Cutting has agreed to stay close to the Association and support its board and staff through this transition period.
Ten of the Association’s previous board members were also re-elected at the organization’s Annual General Meeting, which was held on Friday, June 10. One new director was also named: Mr. Peter Starr of Sutton, Quebec. Mr. Starr brings a wealth of knowledge and business experience with him to his new role on the board, as well as many skills that will be of great benefit to the Association. “We are lucky to be able to continue to count on a solid and experienced board of directors and a strong staff team going forward,” Mr. Warnholtz said. “I look forward to working with them all, and to connecting with our Association’s valued partners and supporters in the very near future.”
