YIN YOGA & TONGLEN MEDITATION Yoga Works Mill Valley
Sunday, Feb. 12
Yin Yoga | 6:30-7:40pm
Tonglen is Tibetan for "giving and receiving." It refers to a meditation practice that cultivates altruism by turning pain into compassion. One visualizes taking in the suffering of oneself and others on the in-breath and sending out kindness and compassion toward oneself and others on the out-breath. For this special heart-themed practice, we'll combine Tonglen meditation with Yin Yoga and dedicate the fruits of our practice to the highest wellbeing of the Earth and all beings. ________________________________________
LOVE YOURSELF, OPEN YOUR HEART & BE FREE:
YIN YOGA & RUMI READINGS Yoga Works Novato
Monday, Feb. 13
Yin Yoga | 7-7:55pm
Jalaluddin Rumi was a 13th century Persian Sunni Muslim poet, jurist, Islamic scholar, theologian and Sufi mystic. Rumi's "ecstatic" poetry invites us to open our hearts, surrender to what is, acknowledge and celebrate what is, and learn from what is in the interest of awakening into bliss, pure spiritual love, expansiveness and an end to suffering. Christy will sprinkle this Yin practice with favorite Rumi poems to inspire us to keep moving in the direction of the freedom that Bob Marley also spoke of: "None but ourselves can free our minds."

Namaste. "I bow to the divine within you,
and I bow to the divine within myself."
POETRY BY JALALUDDIN RUMI:
Let yourself be silently drawn
by the strange pull of what you really love.
It will not lead you astray.
Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing,
there is a field.
I will meet you there.
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.
Your task is not to seek for love,
but merely to seek and find
all the barriers within yourself
that you have built against it.
thorns become roses.
I went inside my heart to see how it was.
Something there makes me hear the whole world weeping.
Where there is ruin
there is hope for a treasure.
Raise your words, not your voice.
It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder. ―Rumi
