On behalf of the Board of Directors at W.O.M.A.N., Inc. welcome to our Annual Report. 

2020. It’s impossible to note the end of the year without acknowledging the challenges we faced and continue to face: a deadly global pandemic, atrocious racial injustice against our Black+ people, a nation divided beyond politics, and a hurting economy.  

While the devastating impacts of the year spared no one, the impact has been uniquely harmful to survivors of domestic violence who are confined to their homes with the people who are abusing them. As reports of domestic violence rose across the globe and country, W.O.M.A.N., Inc. services rose by 75%. In response to increased need, our core staff team added groups and counseling sessions while shifting our operations and volunteer training to be 100% virtual. 

As we continue to support survivors of domestic violence, having resources to continue this critical work is undeniably crucial. It’s in this spirit that I invite you, our readers, to consider making a financial gift in support of our ongoing work. At W.O.M.A.N., Inc., we believe everyone deserves to be safe in their bodies, in their homes, and in their communities. This core belief stands truer than ever today as it has since our year of inception, 1978.  

While it’s impossible to forget the losses and challenges of this year, it is also impossible to forget the heroes who showed up to make the world a safer place. It is impossible to overlook the perseverance of brave survivors who pushed forward despite seemingly insurmountable obstacles. It’s with deep appreciation and awe for these heroes and survivors that I feel hope for the year ahead.
