This week, we are discussing:
Being in the flow...
But what does that mean and how do we do it?
So who is tired of hearing 'just go with the flow'?
So many people talk about going with the flow as if that is the answer to everything. While it is a nice theory, we are human, we are learning and life will give us lessons to help us learn. While I love the concept of going with the flow, I do at times find it hard to always go with the flow. What if someone is discussing something and has a completely different opinion to me? Do I just go with the flow or do I engage in a discussion with them? What if the topic becomes heated? What about if we had our heart set on something and it just does not happen. Are we wrong to feel disappointed? It seems that feeling disappointment, speaking up, seeking out other ways of doing things and debating with others or engaging in robust discussion are more are sometimes seen as not going with the flow. I love a good debate, not because I believe that I am right, not because my beliefs are rigid but because they are an opportunity to see the world in a new way. Sometimes going against the flow can be fun.
So what does that mean?
Sometimes life will throw a curve ball our way and our plans will be thrown into disarray. These are opportunities to develop mental flexibility. It is this mental flexibility that is what is commonly called 'flow'. Does this mean you never get upset or disappointed, of course not. It just means that when you do get upset, frustrated or disappointed, that you don't hang on to those feelings for too long, You look for the learning in everything and you decide to be grateful for that.
I would love to hear what you think.
till next time

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
