THANK YOU SPONSORS AND VOLUNTEERS
Race Director Paula Waite made the course something special in 2021 at the Lakewoods Resort in "Trail Town USA." From metallic mineral deposits that made the compass spin to a course design that took 12 + hours to figure out who was in the lead, this year's race was a gem.

Shout out to Huirasinchi for proving a free race entry to the coed division winners. Word around the campfire is Mari Chandler might team up with Quest in Ecuador for the race.

The racers truly appreciate all of the volunteers and media crew that made this race possible. The encouragement, support, and presence of the volunteers makes a world of difference.

Special thanks to the "Tribe": Steph, Ben, Dave, Greg, and Troy.

As we work on next year's National Championship, we would love to get your input. Anyone is welcome to complete the survey, so please share your thoughts with us.

COACHES CORNER
James Galipeau from Blended Working Adventures has partnered with USARA to offer his coaching services. His focus is on "Your Life's Work," the work someone does to take care of themself. James can help blend this important aspect of a person's day to day life with job and other responsibilities. He offers self-paced online courses, inlcuding scheduled one-on-one discussions and team consultations.
TRAINING TIME

The Go Bag

USARA Executive Director Mike Garrison likes to say that "adventure racing is mostly walking uphill with a pack on." When time is tight or you just have to get out of the car on the commute home, keeping a training go-bag in the trunk means always having the basic necessities to find a hill and walk up and down it a few times (or 20) before heading on your way. Just make sure to clean out the dirty clothes and restock every so often.
PODCAST PLUGS
Brian Gatens hosts the dARk zone--(we like what he did with the name). The latest episode features your favorite USARA Director--Mike Garrison--talking nationals, the growth of the sport, and next year's National Championship race.
BRF Barf racing had a great showing at Nationals, placing fourth in the women's division. Hear what went well and what went... "dumb" on the podcast with "Best Running Friends" Lauren and Anne, who teamed up with Laura Comtois for Nationals.

When Legendary Randy isn't doing Facebook Live updates for USARA Nationals, he's hosting his podcast. If you haven't checked it out yet you should! It's the TA1 Podcast--the home of Adventure racing.
