He shall cover thee with His feathers,
And under His wings shalt thou trust...
Psalm 91:4

Dear Praying Friends,

This past year I’ve memorized Psalm 91, and the Lord brought the above verse to my mind many times as I lay in the hospital bed after my surgery on Tuesday, February 26. The 3+ hour surgery allowed for removal of 6 inches of my colon, which should bring an end to the recurrent episodes of infection over the past year and a half. The timing seemed perfect, as the surgeon saw a new area of infection already forming. My hospital care was excellent, and I enjoyed interacting with various staff members. I came home on Saturday, and although my pain is minimal now, I’m still slowly regaining strength one day at a time.  (I would have sent a message sooner, but couldn’t muster up enough energy to tackle the technology!) I’ll see my doctors this coming Monday, and may be permitted to return to work later in the week if all goes well.

My sister, Faye Hancock, was a huge help, and she returned home to PA this past Monday. Other friends have brought meals. For those of you who sent flowers, cards, encouraging emails, or who brought me before the Throne of Grace in prayer, I send my deepest thanks. Several of the hospital staff remarked that I must have a lot of people who love me. Yes, I certainly do, along with a Father with broad, protective wings under which I can nestle. And I plan to stay under these wings!

Full recovery won’t occur for about another month, so I’ll appreciate your continued prayers as I ease back into normal life again. Again, thank you so much!

Serving gratefully,
