Address / location of incident: 800 Mulock Drive (Town of Newmarket Magna Centre), Newmarket
Description: Central York Fire Services (CYFS) responded to reports of a small electrical fire in one of the electrical rooms at the Town of Newmarket Magna Centre. On arrival, the crew quickly extinguished the fire. The first-in-crew extinguished a fire, which was related to the emergency lighting system. The emergency lighting system has been repaired and the Magna Centre has reopened. There were no injuries.
Cause of incident: Electrical
Casualties / Injuries: None
Community Impact: Temporary closure of the Magna Centre, reopened at 3 p.m.
Current Status: CYFS have fully extinguished the fire.
