Changing children’s futures through innovative new mental health & wellbeing initiative!

Hope 4 Life NI is a local charity that strives to make good mental health a reality for everyone.

Over the past two decades we have delivered invaluable WRAP© programmes (Wellness Recover Action Plan) to thousands of businesses and communities and undoubtedly contributed to improving the mental health of so many across Northern Ireland.  In 2015, we also developed a totally unique and innovative initiative to specifically help promote positive mental health and well-being among children.  Through specially created superheroes – Uberheroes® comics, we have worked with over 15,000 schoolchildren in the past 4 years to deliver facilitated workshops to help them explore areas that most affect them such as cyber bulling, abuse, grief, manipulation and anxiety.

Recent events and the impact of COVID-19 mean that as a charity however, we have encountered difficulties in accessing vital funding that will enable us to reach so many more young people and make a positive impact on communities.  However, we have an amazing opportunity that you and/or your organisation can get involved in to help us achieve our vision!

We have joined with Belfast City Council & Crowdfunder to try and raise £10,000 for a new programme called “Uberheroes® - My Origin Story”, all superheroes have an origin story that has led to them becoming who they are and giving them their superhero powers.
Our financial goal is £5,000, which will be match funded by Belfast City Council achieve £10,000… You can do this through a donation or choosing one of the corporate rewards where you can donate and receive work wellbeing training programme for up to 16 members of staff.

Please visit our Crowdfunder page via this link https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/uberheroes-my-origin-story

We want to empower our children through the stressful transition from Primary into Secondary education, where there are many stressors for them to have to navigate and our research has shown that many of them have issues with worry and anxiety, disrupted sleeping patterns, increasing levels of unhappiness, and concerns about the pressure they are under to over perform.

Based on our experiences of liaising with pupils, teachers and Principals we plan to deliver an innovative 2 year pilot later this year supporting 3,000 children as they prepare for and navigate through transition.  “Uberheroes® - My Origin Story”,  will focus on building their self-esteem, self-confidence & capacity to handle stress and anxiety, improving resilient thinking, mindfulness, perceived verses realistic expectation levels as well as helping them through disappointments or perceived failures.

The 2 year pilot will be working with 40-50 schools across the country and eventually with your help we will deliver this programme, like Uberheroes® to all schools.
