Hockey News

The 2021-22 season is fast approaching! If last season taught us anything it is never give up in the face of adversity. We are hockey players and have more mental toughness than most!

Tryouts are always a stressful time, but the life lessons are immeasurable, as John Wooden says: “Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” The coaching staffs and evaluators are there to access your ability and to make sure that you play on the appropriate team where you have the best chance to be the most successful. We want players to have a rewarding season, learn life lessons, be a good teammate, work hard, score goals, make saves and use hockey as a way to build self confidence and motivation.

Here are some highlights to look forward to this season:
  • Experienced coaching staff & supportive volunteers
  • Expanded Girls Program including teams from 8U-16U
  • Sno-King Facilities (5 Ice sheets to work on your game)
  • USA Hockey new coaching curriculum that focuses on live action competitive drills
  • Seattle Thunderbirds Events at Accesso ShoWare
  • Holiday Clinics & Tournaments
  • NHL Seattle Kraken inaugural season!
  • And many more…
We want to wish you the best of luck this season and thank all of the coaches, players, managers, volunteers in advance for their continuing support, it takes a village! A recent study pointed out that the number one fun factor for kids was trying hard and doing your best. Make it a great year!

Go Sno-King, T-Birds and Kraken!

Hockey Director, Doug Kirton
Spotlight: Pacific District High Performance Goalie Camp

Sno-King Snoqualmie was pleased to host this goalie camp Aug 6-8. This was a high level camp for 06 and 07 goalies. Typically there is only one age group but the 06s missed out last year. There were 53 goalies and 15 coaches from CA, WA, OR, NV and AK. One of the coaches was Molly Schaus, a two time Olympic silver medalist with the women’s national team. Sno-King goalies coaches Sam Bloomberg, Julia Takatsuka and Darin Campbell were all involved. The weekend featured 4 ice times, yoga, fitness testing, dryland. Classroom topics involved, nutrition, mental strength and different pathways to college and pro levels. Thanks to all volunteers, coaches and goalies for a great weekend!
