The CDC recently expanded its recommendation for all fully vaccinated adults (age 18 and older) to seek a COVID-19 booster shot if it has been 6 months after the most recent Pfizer or Moderna dose, or 2 months after their primary Johnson & Johnson dose. It’s okay to get a booster of a different COVID-19 vaccine. We encourage all members of the campus community to schedule an appointment for a booster if they haven’t already done so.
Masks will continue to be required in shared indoor spaces on campus, including classrooms, while Salt Lake County is experiencing high COVID-19 transmission. While we all want to see more of each other’s faces, transmission levels, new variants, and CDC guidance for fully vaccinated individuals mean that we’ll continue to mask up for the health and safety of our campus community. When circumstances allow the mask policy to be revisited, we will communicate any changes and update the guidance on our COVID Resources webpage.
