We can finally celebrate!

It’s been a year none of us are likely to forget, but as 2021 comes to an end, let’s congratulate ourselves on all the hard work, social distancing and COVID safe practices that we have managed to master.

As we wrap up it's exciting to note that we our End of Year Celebrations booked.  Wonderful to be able to share each other's company.  For more details, read on...

From Our CEO

On 11 October restrictions eased and this meant it was time to plan a visit with a team to a Garden.  Here I am pictured using a hedge trimmer.

Our Coordinator Jennifer jumped at this opportunity and I met and worked with James and Sabrina Kan and Pam Rosser.
It was truly a beautiful day and great chance to meet our volunteers on site. James gave me a lesson on the hedge trimmer. I must say, after using the shearers for most of the day, the hedge trimmer was easier to use, thanks to James’ instructions.
The team, like all our teams went above and beyond for the client. The client was extremely happy with the look of the garden at the end of her visit. The smile on her face said everything. Other people in the street saw our sign and asked if we too could garden for them.
Although the photo appears we were close together, James and I remained at a safe distance apart. We still adhered to our COVID-19 safe rules.
Thank you James, Sabrina, Pam and Jennifer for a memorable and safe day.
In the We are Hiring Section, two additions: the position has been extended to a 12 month contract and is also on Seek as well as Ethical Jobs.
Lastly, but by no means least, congratulations to Fernado for his nomination at the NSW Volunteer of the year Award-  in the Cumberland Council.

Thank you everyone.

Leanne Babic, CEO

My Patch

Lee Dickson has created a gorgeous garden with lots of Orchids and abundant flowers.  It’s only small, but well planned and brimming with colour.  Lee said "Just a couple of photos I’d the garden at the moment. My favourite plants are Aquilegias and Salvias as they add lots of colour to the garden. The gerberas are lovely too. Love sitting out in the garden having a cuppa."  We love your garden too Lee.  Thanks for sharing!

Question and Answers

It’s that time of the year again and citrus leaf miners start liking for a feed on your favourite lemon tree leaves. They won’t stop till they have scoured every back yard looking for citrus foliage to much their way through, so protect your new growth by using a spray of Eco Oil or Pest Oil.
