The Fulton Case: What's at Stake for All of Us
Why this issue goes far beyond LGBTQ rights
Tuesday January 12, 2021
3:00 PM - 4:15 PM ET/12:00 PM - 1:15 PM PT
Just one day after the November elections, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, a case about whether the government can turn away a faith-based foster care agency if it refuses to abide by anti-discrimination laws that protect LGBTQ people. While the outcome in Fulton could profoundly impact the legal landscape for LGBTQ people for generations, its impact could be even more far-reaching, potentially reshaping how our country treats minority faith communities, as well as the type of healthcare -- especially reproductive healthcare -- that people are able to receive.
Please join progressive advocates, organizers, and faith leaders to learn more about the issues at play with this case and the scope of impact of various outcomes, as well as what role we can play in shaping the public discourse -- especially a faith response -- in anticipation of the forthcoming decision.
