Welcome to our Downtown Newsletter!

Dear <<First Name>>,

May is #BikeMonth, and we have plenty of Bike related activities happening in and around Downtown! After all, we are one of the top bike-friendly City's in the nation. If you are looking to explore our 1.38 un-square miles by bike, we have curated a few routes for you using our Bike Map and Downtown Map. We also encourage you to participate in Bike To Work Day, on May 16. DLBA will be an official pit-stop for anyone riding to and from work on Broadway, with free giveaways and water to keep you going.
As a component of Live After 5ive, we will host a Bicycle Drive-in at Dusk that same day! So get your friends, kids, or pet ready for the screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

This month we kick off Taste of Downtown which showcases our culinary culture. Be sure to save the dates and get your early bird tickets online. On behalf of the DLBA Board of Directors and its Economic Development Committee, we are proud to present the 2019 Annual Downtown Economic Profile. Last, thank you to those who made it out to Celebrate Downtown! Check out some of the photos of the event and learn more about the recipients who received the Spirit of Downtown Award.

Pedal Movement Helps Long Beach Become More Bicycle Friendly, One Revolution at a Time

“Pedal Movement”: Clever name for a bicycle services organization, referencing both the physical act of propelling a bicycle and the rapidly growing worldwide bicycle movement in general.  This double meaning is also spun into the company’s motto: “One revolution at a time.”

Pedal Movement, the self-described “bicycle services and Transportation Demand Management program provider,” has partnered with the City of Long Beach on such bicycle-forward events as the citywide cycling series Beach Streets, and is a continuing presence at Long Beach events like Music Tastes Good, Pow!Wow! Long Beach, and the DLBA’s Summer and Music series. Read More
