Apologies for the errant email earlier, a reminder for last Sunday's worship 😁 More coffee is obviously needed
In the gospel for this Sunday, we hear Jesus promising the disciples the Spirit as our future guide and companion. Times move. The world changes. Our collective and individual stories are varied and rich. God, the creator of all, made us this way. And Jesus, God with us, asks us to have faith and to trust that God will never leave us, but will keep showing up in the rich contours of our lives. We are to be bold. We are to be reassured and we are to look confidently for the Spirit’s presence in our lives and in the lives of our communities calling us into the just and peaceful future that God desires for all people. Where do you see this Spirit? What is she calling you to?

“ 1Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice? 2On the heights, beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; 3beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries out: 4"To you, O people, I call, and my cry is to all that live.”
~Proverbs 8:1 - 4

They are currently in need of cereal for both locations. If you'd like to donate, you can make arrangements to drop off the cereal yourself or talk with Marie West-Johnson.

Did you hear? We are refreshing the playground and making it safe for our kids.
Here is the plan:

  • We have ordered a new metal swing set. Delivery date is June 10th. This needs to be put together and installed. Volunteers needed.
  • We need to remove the tires and fill any holes. Volunteers needed.
  • We will have 14 yards of playground mulch delivered from Carpinitos. This will need to be spread. Volunteers needed.
  • We will install a metal pole and tetherball. Volunteers needed.
Current cost projections:
  • Total: $2,145
    • Lumber $600
    • Swing Set $720

The completion date will be August 1st. Manatial De Vida will be hosting VBS beginning August 6th. We need our playground safe and ready for use!

Are you willing to donate financially to our project? We are gathering funds to make this project come together, not only for the kids that attend services at St. Andrew and Manatial De Vida, but for the kids in the neighborhood. We are continuing to quest to become more neighborly. Anything you are able to give is greatly appreciated.

Please let Andrea know if you can help with any of the projects listed above. or 425-529-6690
We are going to meet at the St. Andrew backyard for family fun! Donuts, juice, and coffee will give us fuel for the games and activities. All are welcome!

Saturday, June 25th
10:00 AM -11:30 AM
Alternative indoor activities will be available if the weather doesn't cooperate.
Let Andrea know if you're planning to join us – 425-529-6690.
NWCC, home to Pete Jones and Ali Webb, encourage you to attend their concert this weekend, either in person or via livestream.

We welcome you to gather with us as we indulge the deep human need for musical expression. Music has a unique ability to meet us where we are. It can contain any human emotion it meets: sadness, inspiration, grief, joy, anger, or wonder as the world around us changes rapidly.

Zoltan Kodaly’s Esti Dal finds a soldier cold and alone. Harry T. Burleigh’s My Lord What a Morning meets despair with hope. Ola Gjeilo’s lush setting of Ubi Caritas reminds us of the strength we create when gathering with others: “...From a sincere heart, let us love one another.” Sarah Quartel’s arrangement of How Can I Keep From Singing? sums up how we feel as a choir. Arthur Sullivan, Heinrich Schütz, Abbie Betinis, and Susan Brumfield are among the other composers who offer us solace through their music.

As mentioned during worship, last Saturday Julie Kae spoke at the Lavender Graduation ceremony at Seattle Pacific University ( Lavender Graduation is an annual ceremony conducted on numerous campuses to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Two-Spirit, and ally students and to acknowledge their achievements and contributions to the university). Here's a YouTube if you’d like to watch.

Please bring a photo or something that reminds you of important people that have fathered you. We will honor at worship on Sunday.

Do you have a graduate in your life? We’d like to celebrate them next weekend. Please let Andrea know if anyone is joining us by Wednesday, June 15th.
We're now eligible to receive 8 more Covid home tests, so if you're interested go over to the USPS site (or just click on the image) and fill out the form -- it takes less than a minute!

On Sunday, June 26th, St. Andrew will again be hosting our friends from Bridge Disability Ministries for their Sunday Celebration, continuing at St. Andrew tradition since 2009. Worship that Sunday will begin at 11 AM (note the change of time for that Sunday only) and will include a delicious meal prepared by St. Andy’s Gals.  Because our guests represent a very vulnerable population, we will follow a strict set of safety protocols. We will have more information on that as we get closer to the date. We are asking everyone to sign up, even if you’re just planning to attend. Use the QR code to the right to go to our sign-in and volunteer sheet.sign up.

We take the safety of our St. Andrew community seriously. As just one layer of our behavioral policy protections, we conduct background checks for all Elders, Deacons, office volunteers, staff members, and everyone who volunteers with children and youth.  If this pertains to you, please fill out the background check form located on the table in the lobby. Submit it to Carolynn Yahoudy directly or put it in the Communications Coordinator mailbox in the office.  Envelopes are available in the lobby if you would prefer an extra level of privacy for returning the form.
In our latest edition of Getting To Know You, we talk with our newly elected elders and deacon — Bob Seel, Leslie Delfin, and Sheila Greene. While they’re hardly new to St. Andrew, or to many of us, you might be surprised what you find out when they’re grilled under the hot lights with probing questions that get to the truth about their favorite desserts (might not be suitable for sensitive viewers). We’re always tough but fair, of course.
If you haven't stopped by our Tuesday night discussions yet, or haven't been back in a while, there's no time like the present!

Topics change, and sometimes we just improvise or tell stories, but we always have a great time and think you will, too! Meetings are always held on Tuesdays, from 7 pm to about 8 pm, and reminders are sent out each week containing the Zoom Meeting Link. ALL ARE WELCOME!

How To Join the Zoom: You can click directly on this link. If that doesn't work, the meeting ID is 849 1392 2160 and the password is GoDig. Look for the Tuesday afternoon reminder where you'll find the link again.
Wednesday Midday Prayer
The middle of the week
The middle of the day.
A time to stop and sing and pray.

This service of prayer will begin on Facebook Live at 12:15 on Wednesdays, on the St. Andrew Facebook page, and will be around twenty minutes, offering a psalm of the day, one other scripture, short meditation, and prayers of thanksgiving and intercession. Join us! Come and find a quiet center.

And if you miss it, the recording will be on our Facebook page shortly after the conclusion for viewing. Please look for the Wednesday email with more details!
Scott Anderson is on vacation this week, returning on Monday, June 13.

If you have items for the calendar, newsletter or worship aid, please send them to by Wednesday at noon. Thanks!

If you want to know what else is going on, you can always find our calendar online on the website.
As we begin to re-enter the world and return to in-person worship, it is all the more important to hold one another close in prayer. We continue to collect prayers from one another in a variety of ways. Here's one: Follow this link to send an email to Patti Warden who will collect our joys and concerns and send them out according to our typical pattern to the St. Andrew Prayers email list.
Happy birthday to Will Jones, who celebrates on June 15!
Have you found yourself trying to remember what time that meeting was...what the location (or Zoom code!) was for that conversation you wanted to join...or just wanted to read that article again? If so, you can always find a link to our newsletter archives on the church website. Have a look!
