Annual Sessions 2023
Annual Sessions will be held on June 9-10 at Amigo Centre (Sturgis, MI).
Conference Sunday will be June 11, with materials provided by Conference Staff to engage congregations in a way that connects with Annual Sessions materials and IMMC.
Celebrating
Leandrea Lange, on the pastoral team at New Foundation United in Christ Mennonite Fellowship, and her repeated ‘YES’ to invitations to join God’s reconciling mission in the world God loves. On Sunday afternoon, February 19, she will be ordained for ministry with Sharon Yoder officiating.
Cyneatha Millsap’s ministry at Prairie Street Mennonite Church in the past three years. Cyneatha will conclude her ministry there at the end of February. Joanne Gallardo will join the farewell celebration on February 26.
Our Intercultural Working Group and their commitment to invite our conference to increased awareness and growth in intercultural competence.
Connecting
Missional Leadership Team, the visioning body for IN-MI Mennonite Conference, met at Amigo Centre February 3-4. The extended gathering time provided significant opportunity for team building which provides strong foundation for our work together.
Sharon Yoder joined Fellowship of Hope on February 12 to lead a litany of commissioning for Sharon Norton’s ministry as transitional pastor.
Joanne and Sharon will join more than 150 leaders who are attending in-person sessions at Pastors & Leaders 2023, held this week at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary.
Joanne and Sharon joined a Pastoral Financial Wellness workshop presented by Everence and hosted by IMMC on January 18. About 10 IMMC pastors joined this event that addressed clergy taxes, money management, and debt relief.
Credentialing and Leadership Development
Sunnyside Mennonite Church recently launched their pastoral search, hoping to find 1 or 2 persons to fill their full-time position. Richard Kauffman serves as our conference search guide.
First Mennonite recently increased their open position to ¾ time. Their position focuses on community life, pastoral care, and faith formation. Bob Schloneger serves as search guide on behalf of conference.
In January, Sharon connected with 13 applicants who are considering settled or transitional positions in pastoral ministry. Join us in praying for Spirit discernment as these persons consider whether to apply for open positions in our conference.
