1. FinCEAL Plus kick-off seminar on Horizon2020
The FinCEAL Plus Team is pleased to announce that the registration for the official FinCEAL Plus kick-off event is now open! The event will take place in Helsinki 15 - 16 April 2015. The theme of the event is "Finland's International Research Cooperation - Making the Most of Horizon 2020" and it consists of a seminar session with keynote speakers from Finland and abroad, an Asia-focused networking meeting, cocktails and a practical H2020 training on preparing proposals with third country partners. 2. Rolling Call for Project Preparatory Funding
FinCEAL Plus has opened a Rolling Call for Project Preparatory Funding. The purpose of the preparatory funding is to offer support to applicants based in Finnish institutions who are in the process of preparing an application for collaborative research funding from Horizon 2020 or ERA-NET or the EuropeAid funding schemes with partners from Europe and a third region, either Africa, Asia or Latin America and the Caribbean. Applicants can apply for grants between 2000€ - 5000€. More information on how to apply
3. Targeted Travel Grants for the Africa Health Conference and Exhibition in Johannesburg
FinCEAL Plus has opened a Targeted Travel Funding Call to support the participation of one expert from a Finnish university or a research institution interested in attending the Africa Health Conference and Exhibition in Johannesburg 5 - 7 May 2015. The call is directed to experts who focus on Africa. The deadline for applications is Friday 20 March. More information
4. FinCEAL Plus delegation to attend the ASEAN-EU STI Days in Paris
FinCEAL Plus has put together a delegation of five Finnish experts who will travel to Paris to attend the ASEAN-EU STI Days 17 - 19 March 2015. The event will focus on presenting ASEAN research excellence to European stakeholders as well as raising awareness of current developments in Science & Technology in the most dynamic region worldwide. 6. FinCEAL Infobank open to Asia-related projects
The FinCEAL Infobank is a multidisciplinary database of research and capacity building projects carried out by the Finnish research community on/in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The purpose of the Infobank is to facilitate knowledge exchange, communication and cooperation opportunities between researchers focusing on these regions in Finland. 7. FinCEAL LAC Event Grants Result
FinCEAL LAC Call for Event Grants attracted 12 applications from 7 different Finnish institutions. 11 grants between 2500€ and 5000€ were awarded. The full list of grantees is available here. Congratulations to the grantees!
8. New FinCEAL Plus Asia Coordinator
Jarkko Mutanen has joined the FinCEAL Plus team as the project's new Asia coordinator! He is based at the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu and can be reached at jarkko.mutanen[at]uef.fi.
