Friends on Facebook
The Friends of the Lower Suwannee & Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuges now has a page on Facebook. Help spread the word about this lovely, and critically important, place. After you "like" the page, you can post your own photos from the Refuges.

The Friends Booth at the Cedar Key Seafood Festival
We bought a new, bigger, stronger tent for our Friends booth at festivals. The photos show volunteers setting it up. The booth was a big hit, with coloring books and Refuge maps especially popular. We also sold Friends tee-shirts.While Friends volunteers worked in the booth, Refuge staff hosted visitors at the Lighthouse on Seahorse Key.

The Great Suwannee River Cleanup

Could you work half a day...morning or afternoon...on Saturday, December 4? We want to be part of the effort to keep our river as beautiful as in the photos on the right. The Friends will gather trash from boats provided by the Refuge and members of Friends. We'll deliver it to pick up points where it will be weighed. Help is needed for the trash gathering, for the check-in stations, and to set up the picnic lunch provided by the Friends. Come and spend a productive, fun day on the River! Email or call her at 352-493-0238 x223 for more information or to say you can be there.

Birding and Nature Walk
Meet at the Refuge Headquarters at 9:00 am on Monday Nov 8. The walk leader will be Joyce Tarnow. She can be reached at 352-498-2886.
