Live Music Presented by Explore Millburn-Short Hills
This Saturday October, 9 features Baker Street Trio from 7PM to 10PM.  Austen Auriemma returns for the Sunday Brunch Music Series on October 10 from 12PM to 2PM. Both events are in the Main Street Closure. You can find the full music schedule on our website. Please note that location and times are subject to change. Millburn Mud Ball
This fashion show, food tasting and auction fundraiser organized by the Millburn Mud Ball team will benefit local businesses damaged by Hurricane Ida flooding. The ticketed event will be on Millburn Avenue on October 16 at 5:00PM. Merchant Mixer

Explore Presentation at Township Committee Meeting
Steve Grillo presented an overview of Explore's work since he came aboard this past May to the Township Committee at their October 5 meeting. Thank you to the Explore board members and the 25+ business owners who attended. We especially appreciate those who spoke in support of our work. Additionally at the meeting, $220,000 was approved by the Township Committee to be donated to the Hurricane Ida Business Recovery Fund. Here is a link to the presentation.

Business Assistance Updates

Hurricane Ida Business Recovery Fund
Explore has received nearly 70 applications for funding and we have already distributed $140,000. To donate the fund, visit To be eligible, the property and/or businesses must be located within the Millburn-Short Hills Special Improvement District (SID).

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Updates
SBA has announced major enhancements to the EIDL.  For more information, contact SBA in person or via phone 355 Main Street, Hackensack, NJ or 1-800-659-2955.

New Jersey “Return and Earn” Program 
The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development initiative will provide a $500 incentive for unemployed workers reentering the workforce and receiving job training. Millburn High School Ida Fundraiser
Steve Breslow, a Millburn High School math teacher, wanted to demonstrate to his students how they can “spend less and save more.” Breslow decided he could “incentivize” his students’ decision-making about spending and help contribute the Explore fundraiser. For the full article, visit

Township Events and News

Kendra Scott Gives Back Program
On October 14, Kendra Scott Jewelers and the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a networking event at the Short Hills Mall. Email Heather at for more information. Kendra Scott will be donating 20% of sales during the event to the Hurricane Ida Business Recovery Fund. 

Millburn Resident Shopper Parking Permits
Purchase of this permit eliminates the need for use of pay stations, meters or the MPay2Park app. Time limits are still strictly enforced. Download an application and submit to the Tax Office along with a copy of your vehicle registration, insurance card and a copy of your most recent utility bill. For more information, visit

Business Promotions

House of Wigs will be taking 10% off any wig purchase in the month of October and donating it to Breast Cancer Research. Visit the store at 311 Millburn Avenue (entrance on Lackawanna Place).

Pure Barre will be accepting donations on Wednesday, October 13 of lightly worn athletic clothes which will be used in a “Fill A Bag” promotion on Friday, October 15 from 9AM to 5PM. Monetary donations will be provided to Explore’s Hurricane Fund. Visit them at 351 Millburn Avenue.

Taste Buddy will have their grand opening on October 12 at their location at 515A Millburn Avenue. They are offering 15% sales all day and other exciting promotions. 

Paper Mill Playhouse welcomes audiences back for Songs for a New World, a groundbreaking musical by the three-time Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown.  Tickets are on sale now.

There are new business locations due to the impact of Hurricane Ida. Please visit them and show your support. They have full inventories and are eager to see you!
